Coalition of Consciousness - Treatise of Government
By Orson | February 22, 2008
The Coalition of Consciousness is a new way of thinking, a political party that is neither Republican or Democratic in nature. Instead we value Knowledge, Order, and Strength.
The time is here to stop the so called “Moral Majority” from running the show. It’s, I feel, our generations duty to move our country into the future. The stagnant ideas of our past few presidents (and no doubt the ones to come from our next few future presidents) are impeding our advances across the board.
The United States of America use to be the land that prospecting people would come to further ideas and to live in a technologically advancing country. Instead, now due to the “Moral Majority” that runs our political systems, we have become slow to change. We need to be moving forward in all facets of science. Science is the future of the human race, and to slow its progress is to hamper civilization as we know it. Scientific breakthroughs and research would boost our economy and allow for bright minds from other countries to look at America with wide eyes if even just for the opportunity to start research here, or perhaps start a company. Instead we are passing up those opportunities due to so called “morally objective research.”
Stifled research due to budget cuts, retro-policies, and sheer ignorance has brought our space program to its knees over the past years. NASA has had a budget that has gotten cut several times and is fast disappearing into a cloud of other nations’ scientific communities. Look outside and into the vastness of the sky… I know you can feel that man was meant to be there among the stars. That we, humans, are going to take to the vastness of space eventually and look toward colonizing other planets, and visiting other stars in search for resources. It’s simple numbers, if this planet is the only one we are stuck to, we will eventually run out of resources and wither away. Humans cannot maintain existence perpetually without looking at space colonization. The time is now, it’s our duty to protect the human race. We must bear the burden of going forward with new ideas and purging the thought of impossibility; not only from our minds, but the minds of those around us.
NASA alone has made many strides to provide mankind with options for the future, and with proper funding they could accelerate space technology breakthroughs by many years. Instead, they look at budget cuts; project casualties mount, such as: efforts to look for habitable planets and perhaps life elsewhere in the galaxy, investigations of dark energy that seem to be ripping the universe apart, sampling planets for life (such as Jupiter’s moon Europa) and many other projects that I am sure got axed that NASA hasn’t even bothered to mention.
Other sciences that get stifled due to heavy handed government restrictions are things like: Nanotechnology, Stem Cell Research, Human Cloning, Human Therapy Cloning, Synthetic Biology, Eugenics, Genetics, Transhumanism technologies, and many others. This crushes our country’s chance to stay at the top of the pile of world powers. As time goes by, we falter each day as a country and as a species by impeding our scientific research.
Transhumanism is an inevitability as we sludge our way through all the red tape to become human-machine. Transhumanism is an international intellectual and cultural movement supporting the use of new sciences and technologies to enhance human mental and physical abilities and aptitudes, and eliminate undesirable and unnecessary aspects of the human condition, such as stupidity, suffering, disease, aging and involuntary death.
The Transhumanist Declaration of the World Transhumanist Association:
(1) Humanity will be radically changed by technology in the future. We foresee the feasibility of redesigning the human condition, including such parameters as the inevitability of aging, limitations on human and artificial intellects, unchosen psychology, suffering, and our confinement to the planet earth.
(2) Systematic research should be put into understanding these coming developments and their long-term consequences.
(3) Trans humanists think that by being generally open and embracing of new technology we have a better chance of turning it to our advantage than if we try to ban or prohibit it.
(4) Trans humanists advocate the moral right for those who so wish to use technology to extend their mental and physical (including reproductive) capacities and to improve their control over their own lives. We seek personal growth beyond our current biological limitations.
(5) In planning for the future, it is mandatory to take into account the prospect of dramatic progress in technological capabilities. It would be tragic if the potential benefits failed to materialize because of technophobia and unnecessary prohibitions. On the other hand, it would also be tragic if intelligent life went extinct because of some disaster or war involving advanced technologies.
(6) We need to create forums where people can rationally debate what needs to be done, and a social order where responsible decisions can be implemented.
(7) Trans humanism advocates the well- being of all sentience (whether in artificial intellects, humans, post humans, or non- human animals) and encompasses many principles of modern humanism. Trans humanism does not support any particular party, politician or political platform.
Unlike many philosophers, social critics, and activists who place a moral value on preservation of natural systems, transhumanists see the very concept of the specifically “natural” as problematically nebulous at best, and an obstacle to progress at worst.
Restrictions and red tape make people that have potential to do great things gravitate toward less red tape and less-great things. Due to our nations current laws impeding children and amateur scientists’ exposure to chemistry, our national science scores spiral downward. Many are getting out of high school, and even college, without ever having fired up a Bunsen burner or making rockets. Now is the time for action, innovation is needed to save our nation’s science. By prohibiting science, we are depriving ourselves of generations of potential scientists. “People who want to make meth will find ways to do it that don’t require an Erlenmeyer flask. But raising a generation of people who are technically incompetent is a recipe for disaster,” says Bill Nye.
The United States of America is quickly in a decline that we have the power to prevent, if we take action before it spirals out of control. The US has failed us on many levels: our government’s secrets strip at our belief in them, political bodies working for an agenda that benefits only them and not the people, and, like in recent years, we the people sit on our hands.
The people of this country deserve Order. One of the first things that you are entitled to is order. This means that to have order you cannot take a specific side in a matter of ethics. You are bound by the code of Order:
1. You have intrinsic rights that cannot be infringed on - this is the backbone of Order.
2. These rights extend until you meet the rights guaranteed to someone else. “The right to swing my fist ends where the other man’s nose begins.” - Oliver Wendell Holmes
3. The right to Order would mean stiffer punishments for those found guilty of crimes.
4. The right to knowledge would mean that companies, budding scientists, and the children of our great nation wouldn’t be hampered by ethical decisions that do not infringe on other people’s Order-protected rights.
5. Order would protect rights of the people heavy-handedly.
The basics of the backbone of true Order would mean never deviating, so that complaints wouldn’t need to be heard about situational problems. How can you complain, even hypothetically, if you knew that stealing a car would result in working in a prison for 10 years, if caught? Regardless of your personal situation or that of the car, you knew that was going to be your punishment without hesitation and without deviation. There is no arguing in your trial after you are found guilty; you go to jail to work for 10 years, period. This would clear up discrepancies within the court system regarding the leniency towards people in powerful positions or people with a lot of money. If you are found guilty of a crime, no matter who the person is or their station in life, they serve the same sentence because Order places the decree.
True freedoms come with true Order. You can’t give people the freedoms they deserve if they are in a constant state of worry of the next terror or the unknowns the government allows to exist due to its inactivity. The lobby of the people should entitle the people to the unbridled truth. Government bodies should have to tell the truth to the people that uphold it. For once, the political banter across the TV between people running for office would mean you see them for what they are; no beating around the bush, giving us the truth, and answering the questions that matter.
Freedom of press should be upheld in all things but that of war. When the country goes to war and we are on the offensive, the cameras that follow closely impede our tactical decisions; allowing enemies to plan for attacks, by having the ability to easily designate where our units are moving. This takes away our nations right to Power.
The Coalition of Consciousness seeks for the people of the great United States to look toward the skies for innovation, examine our nation for its shortcomings, look at oneself to attain more knowledge, and to look toward our government for change. Knowledge, Order, Power… Instill yourself with those three values, and impart them on your fellow man.
